Year 2 Trip to the Gordon Brown Centre
On Tuesday Elm Class visited the Gordon Brown Centre. We took part in outdoor activities linked to our topic The Great Fire of London. We were given the challenge of working in teams to build houses made of straw, stones and wood. We also witnessed model houses being burnt in a raging fire and wrote a diary entry pretending we were there. In the afternoon we got to cook our own tasty bread using very long sticks and an open fire – it was very smoky!! We had a fantastic day and would like to go back again.
