Year 2: Community Services
This week Elm Class have been learning about the services in their community. They are able to identify who can help them: the police, the fire service and teachers!
- Elm talked about the responsibilities of different people outside of school –
- Who keeps the streets tidy outside school? (part of it is our own responsibility, e.g. don’t drop litter), bin men, etc. (link to Cove Brook – ladies who helped them look after the brook)
- Who keeps us safe?
- Who should pay for things in shops?
- Place nearby they can visit and how we should be responsible when we visit them, e.g. library (being quiet), swimming pool (following rules), shops (paying for things and not breaking them), etc.
They made leaflets to show what they had learnt.
