This week in brief…
Another busy week planned for the pupils of Cherrywood this week!
Year 1 pupils will be taking their phonics screening test this week. It will be completed with Mrs Lewis on a one-to-one basis. Find out more information about the test here.
Year 6 writing will also be externally moderated. Schools and local authorities (LAs) have a statutory duty to ensure that teacher assessment (TA) is accurate and in line with the national standards in the interim TA frameworks.
Monday: Ash trip to Miller’s Ark
Tuesday: Primary Behaviour Service in all morning to work on Cherrywood’s provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. The speech and language therapist is in to assess a number of pupils. Pupils in years 3, 4 and 5 will be visiting the Mayfield Think Safe Event in Totland.
Wednesday: Teaching interviews
Thursday: Year 5 visit to Lulworth Cove and our new staters first stay and play session at 2pm.
Friday: A poet will be working with year 5 and 6.
Training: Designated safeguard lead training, Science and RE teacher training, maths interventions, Keep on talking project for EYFS and ‘loose parts’ play training at a local school.
Remember next week is sports day on Monday (unless the weather is too poor, in which case we will reschedule to Thursday).
