Year 4 Trip to Butser Farm

A couple of weeks ago Oak Class visited Butser Farm to learn more about the Anglo-Saxons. The children enjoyed a range of activities including: being an archaeologist; spinning wool; sewing and carving their initials in runes (Anglo-Saxon alphabet). Remembrance Assembly

Cherrywood had a very special visit today from Frank, a 93 year old war veteran. He came to visit us with two volunteers from the British Legion to explain to us all about Remembrance Sunday and why the poppy is used as the symbol for remembrance. He read out the ‘Flanders Field’ poem to us.

Ray Edwards MBE Assembly
