A warm welcome to Cherrywood Community Primary School!

Closure Guidance

I would like to thank all the staff, parents and children for the way they are managing through this difficult time; it really shows that the community spirit and values that Cherrywood is so proud of can withstand whatever comes our way. Whilst I have personally seen and spoken to many of you already, I wanted to reassure you that there are staff available to support you in a number of ways so please do get in touch with us. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing what you have all been up to through the posts you have made on Tapestry, with a school full of these I’m not able to comment on individual posts, but I do look and really appreciate all you are doing. I am looking forward to seeing you all when this is over. I have included some information below which may be of use to you.

Stay Safe,

Kirsty Lewis

Latest Information
The school plans to be open as long as needed to provide childcare for those families indicated by the Government. This includes what was the Easter Holidays and the Bank Holidays.
If you need to get in touch with the school please phone on 01252 547896 (please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible) or email adminoffice@cherrywood.hants.sch.uk.

Home Learning
We are supporting parents at this time through the use of Tapestry which allows teachers and parents to communicate. If you are having any difficulties accessing this please contact the school. Teachers are posting messages each day from Monday to Friday and will continue to do this through what would have been the Easter Holidays.

If your family is entitled to Free School Meals (this does not include the Universal Free School Meals that are usually available for every Early Years or Key Stage 1 child) then you will have been contacted by the school and a home delivery of these arranged. If you have not been contacted and you believe that you are entitled please contact the school via the email above as soon as possible.

Many of you with children due to start Cherrywood School or move to secondary school in September may have questions in relation to how this will be managed. At present unfortunately I am unable to provide more details as we do not know how long schools will be required to remain closed. I can reassure you that contact will be made on an individual basis once we have a better idea of reopening dates.
